Facebook Is A Great Place To Promote Your Books

January 22, 2013

When you line up your promotion plans, don’t forget that Facebook is a great place to promote your books. Facebook now has over one billion active users. That’s more than most countries. The average visit lasts more than 20 minutes.

When you post a link on Facebook, a preview of the site is pulled into your post. If there are images on the page, Facebook will add one to your post automatically. You can choose which one you’d like to use when there are multiple images. Of course, you can choose not to use any images if you like. However, images give posts greater visibility.

Another great site is Amazon. Of course you know that if your books are listed there. People who visit there go with an intention to buy. Most of them already have their credit card on file there. If Amazon allows people from your location to become associates, be sure and sign up. When you sent people there from another website, you will receive a small (very small) commission for whatever they buy there during your visit. Of course this is in addition to the royalties you receive from the sale of your book.

When you become an affiliate, you can generate a link to any page with your affiliate code embedded in it. This makes it easy to put the link on Facebook.  How to do that can be confusing.

I’ve created this video to show you exactly how to get a link from Amazon and post it on Facebook.

Don’t miss this great promotional opportunity. Remember Facebook when it comes time to promote your books.
